The Stargazers Are Blooming

Good morning Ladies. I so wish I could pick a stem or two for each and every one of you so you could smell how lovely these Stargazer Lily's are.
When I opened the front door today their gentle fragrance filled the air and I knew they must be in bloom.
They are not as plentiful as years past and a few weeds that need to be plucked but glorious just the same.
Here they are nestled up to this little Hydrangea tree that is about to bloom.
Wow, this white Hydrangea is huge and covers most of the west side fence. These will make pretty arrangements for the two blue and white vases that have been empty in the dining room on the side board.
Oh look, the Rose of Sharon hedge is starting to bloom too.
These gigantic Hibiscus shrubs are so big and put on a nice show from the kitchen window but they fade fast and the dropped blossoms make the biggest mess.
They are pretty though, don't you think? Pretty things always seem to get away with making a few messes.
Looks like we will have fresh tomatoes this weekend for Aaron and the kids when they get here tomorrow.
No word yet on any change in Mom's condition. We so appreciate your prayers. I will let you know when I hear more.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a minute to leave a comment so I can come visit you too.

Views Of Bay Harbor & Mom

We had a good time up north last week. The boys had meetings in Bay Harbor so I tagged along as the nanny. We had rooms at The Inn at Bay Harbor. Here are a few pictures of pretty Bay Harbor that I thought you might like to see. The first one is taken off of our little porch and is of the cottages that are included on the Bay Harbor Inn property.
This is a colorful, privately owned, cottage in the village that is close to the main town center. This is the private cottage that we passed on our walk to the town center every evening. It is up on a hill and overlooks Lake Michigan.
The flowers on the entire property were so bright and well maintained.
OK, this may not be so exciting but I love this blue and green fabric that was used on the curtains in our room and would love to find out the name of it. Anybody have a clue? I should have pulled it out straight to see the pattern better but we were leaving and I didn't have time to fuss with it.

Hope you all had a good weekend and that all is well with you and yours. My Mom is in the hospital due to dehydration and an irregular heart beat. Please say a prayer for her if you will please.

I read this quote on some ones blog and thought it was so true:

Life is fragile ~ handle it with Prayer

Northern Michigan

Today we are off to Bay Harbor for some family fun this weekend. Bay Harbor is on the northwest part of the lower peninsula of Michigan on lake Michigan. This time of year is so beautiful in northern Michigan. If you are looking for a vacation spot with your family you might want to consider this part of Michigan. There are cute towns along the coast line that offer all kinds of fun for families in every price range. The state parks on the lake are great for camping. Anyone that has one of those adorable Vintage Travel Trailers and is looking for a destination spot would have a great time up there.
You can find accommodations in all price ranges. There are little bed-and-breakfast places in Charlevoix if you like that type of thing. Petoskey offers several of the chain hotel. Boyne Highlands and Bay Harbor are larger resorts that have many attractions. Mackinac Island is a day trip away and always a fun place to take the kids.
I hope y'all have a good weekend and if you are looking for something to do come on up and visit us here in Michigan.

Pretty Pink Party Drink

These are the only pictures that I took last weekend on our trip up north. After riding motorcycles all day most of us don't want our picture taken with helmet hair. We had a great time with friends. Dana has stocked the guest house with any thing and every thing that you could possible need or want. We found a couple of little drink mixes from Tagret's Cynthia Rowley line that they carried in the spring that Dana had setting on the counter so we decided to experiment. Don't they make pretty little drinks? The kit even included the pink sugar that you put on the rim of the glass. I don't know if they still have them in stock at Target but if you can find them we recommend them, they taste delicious too.
Cheers to summer fun from Patty, me and Angie!

Garden Walk

Won't you join me for a walk around the yard this beautiful morning? Grab a cup of coffee and lets see what's blooming. The lemon thyme is bursting with its pretty purple flowers and spilling over the sidewalk
The little blue bells are in full bloom and the smaller lily's are blooming.
Let's go around the corner of the front of the house and see whats going on there.
The window boxes are a little dry but the lily's are really plentiful this year.
The Stargazers are not blooming yet and are pretty sparse because the bunnies decided that they really liked the sweet foliage this spring.
Oh, this looks pretty coming around to the drive way.

Let's go around back and see how things are coming along.
The lavender didn't do great this year, I wonder why? The big Hydrangeas are starting to bloom out back.

The herbs in the planters don't look to good. They might need to be cut back a bit.
Wow, these lily's that didn't bloom well last year are really putting on a show this season.

The Rose of Sharon hasn't started to flower yet but their foliage is really filling in a creating a nice hedge here.
Thanks for joining me on my morning walk. I would love to hear from y'all. Leave me a comment if you have a minute and let me know how you're doing. I'll try to get around to visit soon.

Sun Porch

Hi everyone. We are at the guest house and the guys just took off on the bikes but I'm sticking around here. The picture above is a sample picture off of the computer here since I forgot to bring my camera connector thing that goes to the computer. Any way I just wanted to stop in and share that Dana posted some pretty pictures on her blog of the sun porch that she just did for Angie & Aaron. I thought you might enjoy them. She can do the cutest thing with cast offs.

~Lily of the Valley~

Isn't this Lily of the Valley wallpaper cute? It would be so sweet in a cottage or vintage travel trailer.
We don't have either one but if we did I would try to find a way to use these pretty pieces as inspiration.
Blessings to y'all on this beautiful summer day!
wallpaper pictures are from Thibaut which is listed in my side bar
